Come and join us for a night of music and fun at “The Groove” Whether you’re a musician or just a music lover, this is the perfect opportunity to come and jam with like-minded individuals.
At The Groove, all genres are welcome, so feel free to bring your guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or any other instrument you’d like to play. Or, if you prefer to just sit back and enjoy the music, you’re more than welcome to do that too!
Our talented house band will kick off the night with some groovy tunes, and then it’s open mic time. So if you’ve been itching to show off your skills or try out some new material, now’s your chance.

Late Night Jazz Ft Ravenstow
Soulful, raw, and full of groove, this jazz collaboration between William Ravenscroft on tenor sax and Bradley Stow on trumpet brings fresh energy to the genre. Backed by a rhythm section that truly cooks, the band channels the R&B-rich soul jazz vibe of The Crusaders, infused with the explosive rhythms of Billy Cobham and the lyrical phrasing of Horace Silver. Together, they blend tight, melodic horns with deep, driving rhythms, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. Tasha Zappala is a singer-songwriter based in Lutruwita/Tasmania. When not serenading she spends her time in the mossy woods making billypots of beans, drinking tea and capturing field recordings.

BRAZJAZ TRIO is once again returning to this beautiful and intimate venue to perform Brazilian jazz, a genre born in the early 60s, which is rarely heard live locally.

LOUISE DENSON (Piano) and
SEB FOLVIG (Double Bass).
These exceptional artists join BRAZJAZ founder and Brazilian-born percussionist CARLOS FERREIRA (Drums & Percussion) to interpret some of the great Brazilian composers such as J.T. Meirelles, Edu Lobo, Moacir Santos, and João Donato, along with Carlos’ own compositions.

Late Night Jazz Ft Shindig Quattro
Helena Markovitch, Aaron Entresz and Crystal Livermore are all graduates of the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music specialising in classical voice and languages, jazz guitar and contemporary music respectively. They perform as a trio or can be augmented by accordion and drums to provide a bigger sound.
Having come together to form Shindig Quattro in the last couple of years they are enjoying fusing together their varied areas of expertise to create a show that takes you on a journey across continents and through the decades.

Miss Jones
Miss Jones is an autistic, kinkyqueer singer/songwriter based in nipaluna/Hobart, lutruwita/Tasmania.
She feels everything strongly, including the chronic pain she lives with daily.
But music is a balm for the soul and blues is what makes Miss Jones’ heart sing, and what she does best.
As someone with dynamic disabilities, Miss Jones might be a little quiet on the promotion and touring fronts, but you can catch her performing live and singing her heart out regularly around the south of lutruwita/Tasmania.
She has decades of performing experience, a big voice, her own unique jazzy blues guitar sound, and a big catalogue of original tunes. She has played support for touring acts like Mia Dyson, Ash Grunwald and Alex Lloyd, and local legends The Sheyana Band and Ange Boxall, and festivals such as Adventure Bay Blues and Roots and Hobart Blues, Brews and Barbecues.

Prophecy Mudzingwa
Prophecy Mudzingwa is a Hobart-based performer originally from the UK. Since moving to
Tasmania in 2015, he has immersed himself in the performing arts, refining his craft through
contemporary voice studies and music production under renowned vocal coach Maria Lurighi.
An active artist in the Tasmanian arts scene, Prophecy performs with bands including
Unearthly Frequencies, Studley Moore, and Mycelium. His music is available on all major
streaming platforms. Beyond performing, he co-produces and engineers live sound for The
SESSIONS Project, a local performance hub that provides a space for emerging and
established artists to collaborate and showcase their work.
Prophecy’s upcoming gig at Pablo’s will be a relaxed, intimate set where he’ll be showcasing a
few of his original songs. As the night unfolds, he may be joined by a couple of friends, adding
to the atmosphere and spontaneity of the performance.
Passionate about both performance and production, Prophecy is always seeking new
opportunities to grow, develop his skills, and explore the creative process.

Martine Holliday is a Tasmanian-born artist known for creating unforgettable musical moments. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), has explored her artistry and creativity across Europe before returning to Nipaluna (Hobart), where she reconnected with her musical roots and rediscovered her passion. Collaborating with local talent over the last year gave her the confidence to now venture onto her own path. Martine brings warmth, storytelling, and soulful energy to every performance, making each moment truly special.
