Late Night Jazz Ft Shindig Quattro
Shindig Quattro draw inspiration from their wide and varied musical and cultural backgrounds. They swing easily between classic standards, quirky Euro-style numbers from the past and present, up-tempo tunes, and chilled-out sambas to keep you entertained.
Helena Markovitch, Aaron Entresz and Crystal Livermore are all graduates of the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music specialising in classical voice and languages, jazz guitar and contemporary music respectively. They perform as a trio or can be augmented by accordion and drums to provide a bigger sound.
Having come together to form Shindig Quattro in the last couple of years they are enjoying fusing together their varied areas of expertise to create a show that takes you on a journey across continents and through the decades.
Dusty Broom and The Crowd Pleasers
Imagine a 1937 Mississippi Juke Joint, raw and nasty country blues wailing out of the corner of the room. Add electricity, volume, drums, bass and just a little rock’n’roll attitude. Sound good? Then get to Pablos on September 20 for Dusty Broom and the Crowd Pleasers. Your life will never be the same again!

Gianni Pauli
Send off Gianni Puli in style as he heads off to Germany to study under Peter Bernstein. No strangers to the Pablo’s stage, the Gianni Puli Quartet will perform his original soul jazz written right here on our little island, joined by Hobart’s finest in Malovnek, Folvig and Monaghan. Gianni will also be joined by dear friend, Ralph Franke on saxophone. Ralph’s credits are diverse across many genres and artists both nationally and internationally as a first-call player in Adelaide and Sydney for over 40 years, before recently relocating to Tasmania. He’s backed B B King and Sting… and others whose names don’t rhyme. Come and join us in celebrating Gianni’s next chapter as he puts Tassie on the map.
Late Night Jazz Ft Ralph Frankie Quartet
Saxophonist Ralph Franke’s resume reads like a who’s who of the Australian entertainment industry of the last 40 years. Based in Sydney from the 80’s to the early 2000’s, Ralph has worked all over Australia as well as South East Asia and Europe. Whilst jazz has always been his first love, he has played a myriad of styles including rock, pop, reggae, ska, fusion and blues. International artists Ralph has backed include Sting, B B King, Mick Taylor (ex Rolling Stones) and Lisa Hunt (ex Aretha Franklin). Some of the Australian artists include James Morrison, Tommy Emmanuel, Mental As Anything, Dragon, John Paul Young, The Models and The Dynamic Hepnotics. Recently relocated to Tasmania, Ralph has, with the help of guitarist Gianni Puli, formed a new quartet also featuring Seb Folvig on bass and Charles Malovnek on drums. The RFQ offer a mix of standards with a twist, some classic tunes saluting past saxophone masters, some ska and New Orleans grooves as well more contemporary funk material
