Miss Jones is an autistic, kinkyqueer singer/songwriter based in nipaluna/Hobart, lutruwita/Tasmania.
She feels everything strongly, including the chronic pain she lives with daily.
But music is a balm for the soul and blues is what makes Miss Jones’ heart sing, and what she does best.
As someone with dynamic disabilities, Miss Jones might be a little quiet on the promotion and touring fronts, but you can catch her performing live and singing her heart out regularly around the south of lutruwita/Tasmania.
She has decades of performing experience, a big voice, her own unique jazzy blues guitar sound, and a big catalogue of original tunes. She has played support for touring acts like Mia Dyson, Ash Grunwald and Alex Lloyd, and local legends The Sheyana Band and Ange Boxall, and festivals such as Adventure Bay Blues and Roots and Hobart Blues, Brews and Barbecues.

Jode Brewster is one of Hobart’s most promising young jazz musicians. He will be joined by some local talent.

Soulful, raw, and full of groove, this jazz collaboration between William Ravenscroft on tenor sax and Bradley Stow on trumpet brings fresh energy to the genre. Backed by a rhythm section that truly cooks, the band channels the R&B-rich soul jazz vibe of The Crusaders, infused with the explosive rhythms of Billy Cobham and the lyrical phrasing of Horace Silver. Together, they blend tight, melodic horns with deep, driving rhythms, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. Their music isn’t just jazz; it’s a journey through soulful grooves that invites the audience to feel every beat.

Loveless Quartet:
Aaron Loveless is an emerging drummer from Hobart, who passionately embraces the jazz language; Drawing inspiration from legends like Mark guiliana, Tony Williams and Max Roach.
For this performance, Aaron will be joined by some of his favourite musical peers and friends, Jobe Brewster (Saxophone), Sebastian Folvig (Double bass) and Louis Monaghan (Piano).

Aaron Entresz is a Tasmanian guitarist based in Hobart. His playing style reflects a love of jazz, particularly mid-century swing and bebop. He has been active in the Tasmanian music scene since the age of 14. At the age of 17, he won the National Future Leaders Jazz Award. Since then he has gone on to perform with some of Australia’s finest musicians and regularly appears at many of Tasmania’s most prestigious venues. Joined by a great rhythm section consisting of Jed Adams (B) and Lawrence Churches (D), he will be performing in a guitar trio format, inspired by great musicians such as Barney Kessel, Kenny Burell Johnny Smith and Tal Farlow.

Hank and Slim hear half remembered hillbilly hits echoing through the ghost towns of rural Tasmania. Dad and uncles worked too hard, drank too much, shot rabbits and drove trucks. The bar room jukebox and Holden cassette tapes played hymns of heartbreak and loss beneath the rainy mountains. The sensitive man acts tough, the poor man struts like a rooster. A shot of whiskey with dry humor. Hank and Slim sing beside the old grave, lonesome together

The Seb Folvig Quartet combines elements of genre conventions and improvisation to showcase a range of ideas and phrases and how these can often flow freely between each style of music. The quartet is comprised of Seb Folvig on electric bass, Aleks Folvig on guitar, Louis Monaghan on Keyboards and Chris McGuinness-Terry on drums. For this gig the group will primarily use vocabulary stemming from jazz, groove and RnB
